Hearts First South Downs Way Challenge 28 June 2008

The day was sunny with a tail wind for the bikers which helped push them up over the Downs.  There was a great turn out and for once there was no mud so it made for a very fast ride.  Charles Eustace, doing the 100 miles, came in under seven hours to Eastbourne, which is fantastic and well done you!

We held the second event on the 26 July and had a lovely day, although perhaps too hot for the riders.  We had nearly 200 bikers taking part and lots of families came to support the riders which meant there was a very warm welcome with big cheers for the participants at the finish.

Thank you all for taking part in this year’s two events. 
Please can you get your sponsorship in as soon as possible and don’t forget there is a week’s off road bike holiday for the person who raises the most money of each event. 
Last year we raised over £120,000 and this year we would like to raise £150,000.

Provisional dates for next year’s events are 27 June and 25 July 2009.
